Sports betting in New Jersey is regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. Online sports betting there is taxed at 19.75% of gross revenue. 19.75% is the online rate, raised on 1 July 2025 by P.L.2025 c.66. Retail is taxed separately at a lower rate. Read 2026-08-18, source.

Kalshi and Polymarket US also list sports contracts to New Jersey customers.

A federal appeals court ruled that New Jersey cannot stop Kalshi's sports contracts; the state has asked the Supreme Court to take the case. Read 2026-10-17, source.
